I'm honestly amazed that people continue to use broken techniques like the feed: URI scheme. Today, I right-clicked on a feed I wanted to subscribe to and copied the link location, not thinking to look at the URL. I then pasted it into Google Reader and got a nice empty screen. I realized the problem almost immediately, but most Web users would've never figured it out. I wonder how many subscribers they lost.
